Eleceed Webtoon Gets Anime Adaptation by Dandelion Animation Studio, 2026 Release Date

The Korean webtoon ELECEED, written by Son Jeho (SJH) and illustrated by Zhena, will be adapted into a TV anime with 2026 set as the release date. A key visual and teaser promotional video have been released.

The anime is being produced by DandeLion Animation Studio, known for its work on THE FIRST SLAM DUNK. The main staff includes:

• Director: Hiroshi Nishikiori (Toaru Majutsu no Index III, Honey Lemon Soda)
• Character Design: Minami Sakura (Gridman Universe)
• Series Composition: Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia)

The official synopsis:
High school student Jiwoo Seo knows nothing of the hidden world around him. Terrified of his own mysterious powers, he lives quietly, concealing his abilities from everyone. But everything changes the day he rescues a battered stray cat. “YOU IDIOT. CHECK WHAT ON ME？PUT ME DOWN NOW.” To Jiwoo’s shock, the injured cat talks.

An illustration by Zhena commemorating the anime announcement was released with the news. Additionally, Kazuhiro Nishikawa, CEO of DandeLion Animation Studio, is scheduled to appear at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles on July 6 to discuss the production process behind the adaptation.

Eleceed is a South Korean manhwa released as a webtoon. It has been serialized on Naver Corporation’s webtoon platform Naver Webtoon since October 2018, with 339 chapters as of June 24. It has over 410 million views on WEBTOON’s English platform.
